HOLGA 120N Plastic Camera
The Holga 120N, an inexpensive camera for everyday use, was initially introduced to the Chinese public in 1982 and soon became an underground artistic phenomenon. The Holga camera is an exercise in breaking free from dependence on technology, precision, and controllability, as the slight softness of the images, vignetting, and random light leaks produce dream-like, one-of-a-kind images.
The current Holga 120N is modeled after the original Holga camera and features improved usability found in the latest generations. It offers two film masks for either 12- 6x6 cm images or 16- 6x4.5cm images, allowing users to capture different formats. The shutter speeds include a (N)ormal setting of 1/100s and a (B)ulb setting that holds the shutter open.
Regarding the apertures, the camera offers a SUNNY setting of f/11 and a SHADE/FLASH setting of f/8, providing flexibility in different lighting conditions. The Holga 120N also comes equipped with a hot shoe adapter, a standard tripod mount (1/4-20), and uses 120 medium format film. Additionally, the camera includes a lens cap and a strap for easy carrying and storage.
